Disabled students returning to Cerritos College this week will find the 135-acre campus more accessible because of a $65,000 barrier-removal project now being completed, said Robert Hughlett, coordinator of programs for the disabled.

The project, which started about five years ago, had been halted because of a lack of funds, Hughlett said. It was resumed this year after the college received a $65,000 state grant for the project, which is expected to be completed Oct. 30.

The work includes installation of automatic doors in the library, student cafeteria, administration and social science buildings.
