Hijacker’s Execution Announced in Iran

NICOSIA, Cyprus —
A man who tried to hijack an Iranian airliner last year was executed in Tehran’s Evin Prison, the official Iranian news agency reported.
The Islamic Republic News Agency, monitored here, said Shahram Mir-Sadeghi was executed Wednesday. It described him as a supporter of the outlawed Moujahedeen underground who tried to hijack an Iranian airline Boeing 727 in January, 1984.
