SINGAPORE —
Wee Kim Wee, head of the state-run broadcasting corporation, was named Tuesday as Singapore’s new president. Wee, 70, a former journalist and diplomat, will replace Devan Nair, who resigned five months ago after confessing he was a confirmed alcoholic.
