Western Digital said it laid off 95 employees.

Due to a drop in demand for semiconductors, the Irvine-based computer chip and board manufacturer reported that it laid off 35 workers at its Irvine wafer plant and 60 people in the corporate headquarters this week. About 350 temporary workers at the Camarillo plant and 200 Malaysian workers will also be let go in the next few months, the company said.
