‘America and Its Poor’

In a letter to The Times regarding “America and Its Poor” series, Allan MacDougall wrote: “Why do we have to keep hearing about poverty and losers in our society. Let’s hear about winners.”

He must be furious that his letter was published since he is obviously a mental pauper with a bankrupt spirit and an example of one of the biggest losers possible. The poor man must be pitied.
