CULTURE AFFAIRS

Having been involved with the arts in Los Angeles since the mid-’50’s I know something of the internal, Machiavellian machinations that exist in various institutions and galleries. What irks me about the entire expose is the outside element.

Why do we have to go outside of our city for administrators and artists? We have an ample supply of administrators and artists who come from every ethnic background and who work in every medium of the arts.

We have the County Museum of Art and its cretin child, MOCA, for exhibiting the works of artists of state, national and international note, interest or merit. Let us keep our city institutions and functions for our city residents.
