Former Arizona State basketball Coach Bob Weinhauer...
Former Arizona State basketball Coach Bob Weinhauer signed an agreement under which he will be paid $276,775 to settle all claims resulting from his firing in July.
The settlement pays Weinhauer $13,631 immediately, provides a $220,744 annuity that will pay him $300,000 over five years in equal monthly installments and allows him to keep a $12,000 advance he received upon his dismissal. In addition, the school will pay $30,400 to Weinhauer’s attorneys.
Weinhauer, who was fired July 9 after posting a three-year record of 44-45 at Arizona State, claimed he had a written five-year agreement to coach the Sun Devils when he was hired away from the University of Pennsylvania on April 24, 1982.
