Samantha Smith’s Dream for World Peace

I was stunned to learn about the tragic death of Samantha Smith. Tragic in that this country--this world--has lost a child who very well could have been the motivation to establish a real world peace!

There are other Samantha Smiths; just look at your own kids or the kids next door. But the courage that this young woman had, challenging such powerful nations as the Soviet Union and making them accountable for the world’s future, is a rare gift indeed!

Maybe from the ashes of Samantha’s untimely death, there can arise in each of us a phoenix of this rare courage! We can challenge the powers of this world to fulfill her dream! God bless you, Samantha.
