SyArt Wins Contracts for Parking Work

SyArt Inc. of Gardena has been named to design, engineer and construct the $12.5-million, nine-level parking facility that will bridge the May Co. and Eastern-Columbia buildings in their new role as Palace Square furnishings center in Los Angeles, and has been commissioned to build parking facilities for major new office projects in Las Vegas, Glendale and La Jolla.

Sam Kurtz, the firm’s president, said his company will build a $3-million, free-standing parking structure in the new Howard Hughes Center in Las Vegas for the First Interstate Tower. Additionally, the firm has been retained to build a $5-million, 300,000-square-foot parking structure for the 14-story Glendale Center office building being built by Reliance Development Group, and a $4-million, three-level parking structure for Plaza La Jolla Village, an Ernest Hahn/Harry L. Summers project.

SyArt recently completed the two major parking structures for Horton Plaza in San Diego, involving seven levels totaling 788,000 square feet and accommodating for 2,566 cars. The project cost was $13 million.
