The Region : Scientology Members to Protest Over Suit
Church of Scientology members said they would demonstrate outside the State Building in San Francisco until the California Supreme Court rules on whether a minister’s notes taken in a counseling session should be entered as evidence in the Los Angeles trial of former church archivist Gerald Armstrong, who is suing the church. The high court granted a temporary stay of the Los Angeles proceedings, sought by the Rev. Ken Hoden, church president, while it reviews the issues. Hoden contends that the notes should be confidential, like confessions in the Roman Catholic Church.
