Resorts International raised its stake in Pan Am.

Resorts, which owns casinos in Atlantic City, N.J., and in the Bahamas, said it bought another 2.88 million common shares of Pan American World Airways, increasing its holdings to 9%. Resorts said its stake in the airline is for investment purposes only. Pan Am officials declined to comment. Resorts said it now owns 12 million shares of Pan Am, which it acquired between April 21 and Sept. 10 at prices between $7.375 and $8.50.
