Bargaining by the three U.S. television networks over American rights for the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games have reached a deadlock, delegate sources said.
“The highest bid is $320 million--no one wants to go higher,” said a source who declined to be identified. No immediate confirmation of the impasse was available, as negotiators refused to comment.
The sources said that Juan Antonio Samaranch, head of the International Olympic Committee, was privately meeting with representatives of the Seoul organizers and the networks--ABC, NBC and CBS--in a bid to bridge the gap.
