A 73-year-old woman crashed her car into the lobby of the Department of Motor Vehicles office in Pomona--a few minutes after she passed her driving test. DMV officials said Jean Deignan scored a 74 on the test (70 is required for a passing grade) and was backing her car out of the driveway when her foot slipped from the brake to the accelerator and the vehicle crashed through the north wall of the building at 20 m.p.h. No one was injured and Deignan was not cited, but DMV office manager George Renz said the department is “taking a closer look” at her driving record.
