Factory-Built Lead Claimed

Fleetwood Industries, Riverside, citing its completion of 413,657 manufactured homes through December, 1984, is “well in front of all the competition as the overall leader in manufactured housing,” according to John Pollis, director of marketing.

He said the firm’s nearest competitor, Redman Homes, reported 411,876 homes produced as of May, 1985. He added that Fleetwood surpassed all other producers of new homes, both site-built and manufactured, for the first time in 1983 and has topped Professional Builder magazine’s annual list of “Housing Giants” for three consecutive years.
