“Joe Bishop/AIDS Benefit,” a memorial exhibition to benefit Aids Project Los Angeles, is at the Richard Kuhlenschmidt Gallery through Saturday.

Bishop, an artist and critic whose ideas on the politics of representation became part of Post-Modernist theory, died of AIDS in July. Twenty well-known artists, including John Baldessari, Sherrie Levine and Cindy Sherman, have donated works to the show. Many of the participants showed their work in “Imitation of Life,” an exhibition organized by Bishop at Hartford College in 1979.

All proceeds from sales in the current show will go to Aids Project Los Angeles, a nonprofit public health organization. Information: (213) 276-9786.
