‘Greater Danger’
In Russell Chandler’s excellent article (Sept. 12), “Farrakhan’s Message of ‘Hate and Bigotry,’ ” he made a one-word error--unintentional, I am sure--which distorts what I told him in our interview at the Anaheim Convention Center.
What I said--and what I have been saying consistently to my black friends--was: “I consider (Louis) Farrakhan a far greater danger to the welfare of the black community than to the Jewish community.”
“Black separatism would be as counterproductive for blacks in this country, where whites are in the majority, as it proves to be for whites in South Africa, where blacks are in the majority.”
