The Iraqi military Saturday announced its fifth air raid in as many days on Iran’s main oil terminal at Kharg Island and vowed that the attacks will continue until “peace is achieved” between the two warring Muslim neighbors.

There was no immediate confirmation of the raid from Iran or from Persian Gulf marine salvage sources.

The reported raid, the 15th since mid-August and fifth since Tuesday, appeared aimed at hampering work to repair earlier damage done to the oil terminal, about 125 miles southeast of the Iraqi coast in the Persian Gulf.

Kharg handles 90% of Iran’s oil exports, which the country is using to fund its war effort and to support its economy.
