William M. Wilson, president and chief executive of Toronto-based Reed Stenhouse Cos., was named chairman and chief executive of Alexander & Alexander International Inc. by T.H. Irvin, president and chief operating officer of New York-based Alexander & Alexander Services, the parent company, which merged with Reed Stenhouse last July 31. Wilson will maintain offices in both cities.

In other executive realignments stemming from the merger, John C. Sienkiewicz will continue as president of A&A; International while becoming director of multinational business development, based in New York; John B. Devine, chairman and chief executive of Reed Stenhouse & Partners Ltd., will become responsible for retail operations in the United Kingdom and Europe, and David C. French, formerly chief executive of Reed Stenhouse in the United States and chairman of that firm’s Asia-Pacific region, will become chairman and chief executive of the merged firms’ Asia-Pacific region, based in Sydney, Australia. (Retail operations in both the United Kingdom and Australia will be traded as Alexander Stenhouse, effective Jan. 1.)

Cedric G. E. Gyles will continue as chief executive of Reed Stenhouse Ltd. Canada, based in Toronto.
