A Sylmar man was killed Sunday night in Newhall after his speeding motorcycle crashed into a tanker-truck on the Sierra Highway, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Kurtis Mancino, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics shortly after the 5 p.m. accident.
Mancino’s motorcycle was northbound on Sierra Highway at about 80 m.p.h. when it struck the right rear bumper of a tanker-truck making a left turn. The motorcycle skidded about 320 feet before coming to a stop, said CHP Officer Janet Engler.
The truck’s driver, Donald Dudoise, was not hurt and was not cited or held, Engler said.
