Ventura Supervisor Sentenced
Ventura County Supervisor Edwin A. Jones pleaded no contest today to charges of public drunkenness and disturbing the peace, stemming from a June 12 incident at a Studio City motel.
Jones, 55, appeared in San Fernando Municipal Court and was sentenced by Judge Morton Rochman to two years of summary probation and a $1,000 fine. Jones had been charged with lewd conduct and indecent exposure, but Los Angeles city attorneys agreed to accept the no contest plea to the lesser charges after their chief witness refused to testify against Jones.
