Brother Pleads Guilty in Slaying

PENDLETON, Ore. — A California man who says he killed his teen-age sister 11 years ago by putting a pistol in her mouth and firing it because she may have been pregnant with his child pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter today.
Kalib Valentine, 26, who changed his name from Michael V. Wilson, entered his plea before Umatilla County Circuit Judge Jack Olsen, who set sentencing for Nov. 4. He faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison for the slaying.
Slaying had been labeled a suicide, Part II, Page 1.
