Fullerton : Noise Barriers to Be Required of Developers

Share

The city is requiring developers to include walls in their construction plans for the 500 block of Williamson Avenue to reduce noise from passing trains.

After a hearing Tuesday night, the City Council also agreed to pay about $24,000 for a water line in the area, City Manager Bill Winter said.

The area, which now has a four-unit apartment house and some single-family homes, may face development of new homes after its designation was changed from commercial-industrial to medium-density residential in June.

The council also voted to allow fortunetellers and palm readers to do business in the city. Fullerton joins other cities across the county and elsewhere that are lifting bans on fortunetelling after a recent state Supreme Court decision.
