A transient suspected of robbing three clothing stores last month was arrested by Garden Grove police Thursday afternoon after being chased into a business complex near Harbor Boulevard and Orangewood Avenue, police said.
The suspect, Robert John Boatright, 29, was booked at Orange County Jail, where bail was expected to be set at $50,000, Police Sgt. Bruce Beauchamp said.
Boatright’s photograph was identified by victims and witnesses to the three robberies, which occurred at Garden Grove clothing stores from Sept. 19 to Sept. 22, Beauchamp said. Investigators spotted Boatright walking on Orangewood Avenue at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday, and he was captured after a brief chase. A knife was used in at least one of the robberies, Beauchamp said.
