One man was killed and two others were wounded when three gunmen opened fire on them in a Wilshire area restaurant, Los Angeles police said Friday.

The fusillade from a sawed-off shotgun and two handguns sent other patrons in the Dong Kyung Ahm Restaurant, 3077 West 8th St., scurrying for cover when the attack began shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday, officers said.

The intended victim, Sung Yi, 36, of Los Angeles, was wounded in the attack, but he survived.

Yi and the other wounded man, Casey Paik, 51, were in critical condition at County-USC Medical Center.

A 28-year-old man, whose identity was withheld pending notification of relatives, died at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center.

Detectives said the shooting, in the area known as Koreatown, appears to be the result of a business dispute at a Hollywood dance club owned by Yi. Witnesses told police that they had seen the gunmen and thought they could recognize them, but no arrests have been made.
