The driver of a school bus that collided with a truck in Fremont last June 7, killing a student and injuring 46 others, has been accused of felony vehicular manslaughter by the Alameda County district attorney’s office. A California Highway Patrol report said Mark Collins, 24, an employee of Taylor Bus Services Inc., was driving at a unsafe speed for road conditions--28 m.p.h.-- when his chartered bus collided with a stalled semi-trailer milk truck on Interstate 680. Sean Purcell, 11, one of 71 Elk Grove school children on an outing to Marriott’s Great America amusement park in Santa Clara, was killed.
