Rajneeshee Defector Back at Commune
The former mayor of Rajneeshpuram has returned to the commune-city as the state police superintendent confirmed that criminal indictments are likely to be filed against Rajneeshees who left with him.
Swami Krishna Deva, who had departed with other key officials of the Rajneeshee sect amid a flurry of charges against them by their leader, has rejoined Indian guru Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, The Portland Oregonian newspaper reported.
State grand juries as well as a task force of state and federal officers are investigating the guru’s allegations, including charges of attempted murder and wiretapping.
Deva and other Rajneeshee leaders left the commune abruptly 2 1/2 weeks ago.
