A Pine Valley man died when his truck ran off the road and overturned Monday afternoon near Campo, the California Highway Patrol reported.

James Ulrich, 58, was driving a small truck north on Buckman Springs Road about 4 p.m. when he veered off the right side of the road for an unknown reason, then overcorrected to the left, CHP Officer Jerry Yops reported. The truck went off the left side of the road and rolled over, Yops said. Ulrich died at the scene.
