A county prosecutor accused of mishandling a massive child sex abuse investigation will remain in office despite a commission finding that she intentionally suppressed evidence, Minnesota Gov. Rudy Perpich said. Perpich, who refused to elaborate on his decision because of pending lawsuits, said he accepted the panel’s recommendation that Scott County Atty. Kathleen Morris should not be removed from office. Morris arrested and charged 24 adults with more than 400 counts of sexually abusing children in the small community of Jordan, Minn.
