BAYOU BLUES

Share

On Sept. 8 in Calendar, there was a lengthy article regarding a man accused of killing several people in the South who had an obsession with Olivia Newton-John (“TV Addict’s Grim Legend on the Bayou,” by Stuart Goldman).

I can only say that I did not pick up the Calendar section of The Times to read such tripe. That section of the paper I believed to be an entertainment part of the paper. The article was depressing, macabre and loathsome--why write about this man at all?

Why in the entertainment section of the paper? Because the man was obsessed with an entertainer? (Not good enough!) The story belonged in the hard-news section of the paper--if anywhere at all.
