Job-seekers may have to look no further than their television sets this weekend for employment opportunities when two new job-recruitment programs debut on KDOC-Channel 56.

“Opportunity Line,” produced jointly by KDOC and the state Employment Development Department, will air weekly beginning Sunday at 2 p.m. Host Pat Michaels will interview employers with job openings listed with the EDD as well as companies that have services to aid the unemployed, such as a resume-writing service. Among the agencies to be profiled are the California Department of Corrections, Orange County Sheriff’s Department and Anaheim Youth Employment Service. Some private firms, including American Zettler Inc., Taylor Dunn, MDB Systems Inc. and the Christmas Guild, will be featured.

Representatives from Merrill Lynch, Inacomp Computer Centers and Harris-Lanier will discuss career opportunities at their companies on the first segment of “Meet Your Next Employer,” a private-sector job-recruitment program that will debut Sunday on KDOC.

The show, hosted by Cindy Subby, is produced by VideoSearch, a Santa Ana job-recruitment firm. VideoSearch President Richard Katz said the program will have a business news-talk format featuring senior executives from Fortune 500 and other companies who will be interviewed about their companies’ employment opportunities, candidate qualifications and job benefits. Katz also said his company will conduct an extensive pre-broadcast advertising campaign to inform job-seekers about the program.

“Meet Your Next Employer,” which will air on KDOC at 5 p.m., will also be carried on KHIS-Channel 46 at 9 p.m. and KCSI-Channel 18 on Monday at 10 p.m.
