Bombing in Orange County

Share

The death of Alex Odeh is a blow to the struggle for civil rights in our community. Odeh pursued the cause of equal rights for those of Arab descent with a quiet dignity and effectiveness that will be sorely missed.

Recently he enlisted the support of the American Civil Liberties Union in a case involving discrimination based on Arab national origin. Odeh raised the ACLU’s awareness of the existence of such discrimination in Southern California and we hoped to work with him in the future in opposing all forms of prejudice and discrimination. Hopefully, his death will cause all those committed to equal rights under law to rededicate themselves to this endless struggle.
