ABC’S ‘FALL GUY’ HITS BOTTOM; ‘LIME STREET’ TO GET NEW LIFE

Plagued by dwindling ratings, “The Fall Guy” fell out of ABC’s schedule Friday after a four-year run. The network, running third in the prime-time ratings, also withdrew the new series “Lime Street” but promised that it will return in a new time period “shortly after the first of the year.”

ABC said that “The Fall Guy” will be replaced at 8 p.m. on Thursdays--opposite NBC’s runaway hit “The Cosby Show”--by “Shadow Chasers,” an “adventure-comedy series” about an odd-couple team that investigates mysteries of the occult and other unexplained phenomena. It stars Dennis Dugan and Trevor Eve, with Nina Foch on hand as the woman who assigns them their weekly tasks. An exact premiere date was not immediately announced.

“Lime Street” will be replaced Saturdays at 9 p.m. by “Lady Blue,” the police series that has been airing Thursdays at 9 p.m. but which was scheduled to vacate that time period next month when ABC introduces “Dynasty II: The Colbys.” “Lady Blue,” which stars Jamie Rose, will move to its new slot Nov. 16.

ABC also said that “Our Family Honor” will trade places in the schedule with “Spenser: For Hire.” “Our Family Honor” will begin airing Fridays at 10 p.m. Nov. 8, while “Spenser” moves to Tuesdays at 10 p.m. as of Oct. 29.
