Lakeside
A Santee man was shot to death Thursday night outside a Lakeside bar, a Sheriff’s Department homicide detective said. Witnesses reported seeing Anthony Paul Chavez, 30, arguing earlier with another man at the Road House Bar in the 13000 block of Old Highway 80. Chavez was shot and killed about 9 p.m. Thursday, Detective Sgt. Dennis Hartman said.
Robert Wayne Russell, 39, of El Cajon was arrested in La Mesa by sheriff’s deputies, Hartman said.
Russell was booked on suspicion of murder and is being held without bail pending his arraignment, Hartman said.
