Those notorious Chicago Film Festival posters by photographer Victor Skrebneski have gotten increasingly racy, including some with male frontal nudity.

Now, in its 21st year (opening Nov. 8), the festival has decided to print the latest Skrebneski poster (adjoining is the top third of said poster) in color (for $30), as well as in traditional black-and-white ($20; the organization also offers two posters along more traditional film festival lines).

“We used to exploit women more but with (the advent of) feminism, we started to exploit men equally,” said Michael Kutza, festival founder and director.

The posters, which carry no printing other than what can be glimpsed on a model’s T-shirt, provide “an image of something racier than Chicago--you’ve got to shake up this city.”

Since Advertising Age publicized the new poster recently, Kutza said, “the phone has been ringing off the hook (with orders)--mostly from women.”
