Passenger Ferry Ties Polynesia

A passenger ferry boat to Bora Bora has begun service. The Raromatai, which carries 550 passengers and 50 motor vehicles, is air-conditioned, has a snack bar, restaurant and variety of sleeping accommodations.
Departures are at 8:30 p.m. every Tuesday and Friday from Papeete, Tahiti, making hourlong stops at Huahine, Raiatea and Tahaa and arriving at Bora Bora the next morning at 5:30 for additional information phone the Tahiti Tourist Promotion Board, (213) 475-2012.
