Boy, 12, Killed in Arleta by Hit-and-Run Driver
A12-year-old boy was killed by a hit-and-run driver Tuesday evening as he was crossing a street in Arleta, Los Angeles police reported.
The boy, a sixth-grader at Sharp Avenue Elementary School, was hit by a westbound car as he was crossing Terra Bella Street at Bartee Avenue, Officer Rick Vigil said.
The boy, whose name was withheld pending notification of his family, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. A witness provided investigators with a description of the car, which was last seen speeding from the scene of the accident, Vigil said.
