Two parolees believed armed and fleeing to Mexico with a vow not to be taken alive were arrested in Ontario. Arcadio Acuna, 34, and Marco Ramirez, 29, were arrested during a police stakeout of the neighborhood where the pair lived. A 9-millimeter semiautomatic machine pistol and a 30-round clip of ammunition was found in a gym bag carried by one of the men, Ontario police said. Detectives arrested the two at gunpoint about 100 yards from a taxi they were taking to their homes after fleeing to Los Angeles by bus from a Monday crime spree in San Jose. Police there said Acuna and Ramirez are suspected of being part of a trio of gunmen who held three people hostage and stole two cars. Acuna and Ramirez were booked on suspicion of robbery and held without bail at San Bernardino County Jail. Prison records show both men are on parole from earlier robbery convictions.
