Union Pacific Net Falls to $120 Million in Quarter

Union Pacific Corp. reported third-quarter earnings of $120.4 million, compared to $136.1 million in the third quarter of 1984.

Revenue was $1.93 billion, compared to $2.03 billion for the like quarter of 1984. Earnings of Champlin Petroleum and Rocky Mountain Energy were ahead of last year, but Union Pacific System and Upland Industries were lower.

Union Pacific System’s third-quarter earnings were $69.3 million on revenue of $906 million, compared to record earnings of $88.2 million on revenue of $980.7 million in 1984.
