A small bomb that exploded under a car parked in front of a San Bernardino house apparently was meant to threaten or harm residents of the home, police said. “This is not just a shot in the dark,” Sgt. Mike Kinsman said. “It appears to be a threat or some type of retaliation.” No one was injured in the blast. The bomb, placed in the undercarriage of the car parked on the front lawn, severely damaged the vehicle and threw a tire and other debris more than 20 feet into the street. Two families occupy the home, and investigators said they were interviewing the residents to determine a motive for the bombing.
