Reagan Names U.S. Judges For Texas and New York

WASHINGTON — President Reagan on Tuesday named Texas judge Sidney Fitzwater and New York lawyer Thomas McAvoy to federal district judgeships, a White House spokesman said.
Fitzwater, 32, a state judge in Dallas, was named to the bench for the Northern District of Texas. McAvoy, 47, of Kirkwood, N. Y., will fill a position in the Northern District of New York.
