Driver in Fair Condition: An Anaheim man was reported in fair condition at UCI Medical Center after his pickup truck crashed Tuesday on the Riverside Freeway near Coal Canyon Road. David William Deterding, 27, was in the intensive-care unit after surgery, a hospital spokeswoman said. Deterding’s truck drifted onto the right shoulder at about 7:30 p.m., overturned and slid 280 feet on its side across the roadway, according to the California Highway Patrol. Deterding was cited for drunk driving, police said.
