Chris Evert Lloyd, the world’s No. 1-ranked woman’s tennis player, will lead the heavily favored United States team against Britain beginning tonight at Williamsburg, Va., in the annual Wightman Cup tennis competition.
Unbeaten in 24 Wightman Cup singles matches, Lloyd will be playing in a U.S.-record 13th year as she captains a team of Pam Shriver, ranked No. 3 in the world, Kathy Rinaldi, who is No. 11, and doubles specialists Betsy Nagelsen and Anne White.
