A Southland builder and a salesman for a competing publication have purchased the 25-year-old Homebuyers Guide magazine from founder Parke E. Bryan.
Harry C. Crowell, president of Crowell Industries, Upland, and Nick Markulis, sales executive with Homes for Sale magazine, plan to introduce a larger format in their December debut issue. They will maintain publishing offices at 1550 Bristol St. North, Newport Beach.
The magazine will feature a 7-by-10 inch format, with locator maps using a grid system similar to that used in the Thomas Bros. map books, Markulis said.
