Circulation Audit Done for ‘The Executive’

Share

Business Publications Audit of Circulation Inc. said it has completed auditing procedures for The Executive, a Costa Mesa-based monthly business magazine.

A circulation audit guarantees to advertisers that a publication’s claimed circulation is accurate.

Completion of the audit allows The Executive to be “considered by a great many advertisers who wouldn’t (purchase space in the magazine) without it,” said Janabai Tuvil, advertising director for the 75,000-circulation magazine, which profiles executives in Orange and Los Angeles counties.

BPA also said it rejected the Liberty Street Chronicle for membership, saying the Irvine-based monthly business magazine “failed to comply with regulations.” The publication can reapply, said Glenn Hanson, BPA’s western division manager, but must drop its use of any reference that it has applied for BPA membership.

Steve Sullivan, publisher of the Chronicle, said the publication will reapply for BPA membership and already has begun procedures for an audit by Audit Bureau of Circulation.

BPA and ABC are two of the nation’s leading circulation auditing companies.

Circulation of three of the four monthly business newspapers published by the Costa Mesa-based Orange County Media Group is audited by the Community Papers Verification Service in Madison, Wis. and the group’s recently formed South County News has applied to Community Papers for audit of its circulation.
