Bladder Cancer

The Times story (Oct. 13) on the death of singer Tex Williams noted that Williams had been a heavy cigarette smoker, but (The Times noted) he died of bladder cancer. The implication was that Williams’ disease was unrelated to his smoking. The fact is that cigarette smoking is responsible not only for lung cancer but also for cancer in various other sites, including the bladder.
