What syndicate peddles Cal Thomas’ columns? His snide anti-woman attack on Mrs. Joan Kroc seems right out of the Pentagon’s propaganda mill and/or the defense industry’s public relations department.

We have met the estimable lady and can assure you that she is indeed very aware of what nuclear weapons, American, Russian, French or Chinese, can do.

This is why she and her daughter, Linda Smith, are engaged in earnest constructive efforts directed toward slowing and eventually stopping the nuclear arms race.

We, and many others, endorse and support these efforts, and encourage others to do so.

The first, comparatively small, Chinese nuclear explosion brought about the wafting of dangerous levels of fallout into American milk.

If but one of the new “improved” hydra-headed monsters, such as MX, is fired, all of us of all nations are done for, whether by error, inadvertence or demented malice.

Thomas may be willing to continue ignorantly living at this horrible risk. We are not.
