An anti-pornography ordinance proposed for Cambridge, Mass., appeared headed for defeat at the polls. With 35 of the 55 precincts counted, the vote was 8,178 against to 5,447 for. The remaining ballots were to be counted later. The measure would allow women who believe they have been hurt by pornography to sue anyone who makes, sells or buys obscene materials. The referendum divided feminists on the issue of censorship.
