Tennis Clinic Marks Opening of Condos in Cathedral City

A tennis clinic for prospective buyers will be held at 10:30 a.m. today in Cathedral City to mark the opening there of Canyon Shores Condominiums.

Built by the SWR Development Corp., the 202 homes range in size from 1,080 to 1,658 square feet and are available in five floor plans with one to three bedrooms, one or two stories, private patio or balcony. Some homes have wet bars, vaulted ceilings and mirrored wardrobe doors.

The project also offers fee simple land, meaning the homeowner owns the land.

Phase 1, consisting of 76 homes, ranges in price from $79,900 to $141,000, including the models. The monthly homeowners fee is $160.

Common amenities include a 6,500-square-foot clubhouse and tennis pro shop, five lighted tennis courts, five swimming pools, eight spas, a fully equipped exercise room and men’s and women’s locker rooms with saunas and showers.

The sales office and furnished models are open daily, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 35-200 Cathedral Canyon Drive. First move-ins are planned in December.

Pancho Gonzalez and Bobby Riggs were scheduled as celebrity guests at a tennis exhibition Saturday as part of the opening celebration.
