San Dimas : Concrete Firm Moving

The owners of San Dimas Ready Mix Co. have begun moving from 536 Arrow Highway in what may be the final chapter in an almost five-year struggle with the San Dimas Redevelopment Agency.
Redevelopment officials want the nearly five-acre site so a shopping center can be built. The agency has signed a contract with Gary Kanter & Associates to build the shopping center. Officials at Gary Kanter said that leases had already been signed with C & R Clothiers, the Federated Group and Standard Brands Paint & Home Decorating Centers.
The site was condemned through eminent domain proceedings more than a year ago, but the concrete supplier has only recently begun moving.
The firm, which has been located on the site for more than 30 years, will temporarily store equipment in Fontana until a new location is found, Donna Preszler, a company official said.
