Donald Jeff Jenkins of Diamond Bar has been appointed to the Los Angeles County Commission on Youth by Supervisor Pete Schabarum. Jenkins, a Cal Poly Pomona graduate, will serve a three-year term. The commission advises the Board of Supervisors on the needs of young people in the county.

Karl Kohn, music professor and composer-in-residence at Pomona College, has been awarded the 1985-86 American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers Award.

Michael Newman, partner in the law firm of Newman & Faith Inc., Covina, has been elected president of Inter-Community Medical Center Board of Trustees. Newman has been a board member for five years. Drs. Robb Roy Hicks and Akira Kuramata, both of Covina, have been newly elected to the board.

Linda Cantwell has been elected president of the Pasadena Junior Philharmonic. Cheryl Zimmer will serve as vice president, Sally Holt and Betty Rossiter as secretaries and Jean Crabtree as treasurer.
